NEA ‘HOT GIRL SUMMER’ MV

NEA wanted to make climate action more relatable and engaging for younger audiences. The creative response was Hot Girl Summer, a satirical 2000s-inspired music video that used humour, nostalgia and pop culture to encourage Singaporeans to adopt more sustainable habits.

01 / Context

Turning climate action into a 2000s-style music video

The music video was produced across 2 days, 3 locations and ~15 cast and crew, with close coordination across wardrobe, set design, casting, locations and post-production to maintain the 2000s-inspired aesthetic.

It was also the team's first vertical music video, requiring production and creative decisions to be adapted from the landscape format used for previous MVs. With client approvals handled remotely during the shoot, the workflow was structured to keep decisions moving while maintaining consistency through to the final edit.

02 / Approach

Bringing the 2000s aesthetic to life across production

03 / Outcome

The final campaign successfully translated a complex climate message into an entertaining, social-first format, generating strong audience response while making climate action more accessible and culturally relevant to younger Singaporeans.
